Physio assistants-what do they do?

We and our patients were delighted that our physio assistant Louise came off furlough on the 1st July 2020. Louise has been part of our practice for over 5 years and is a committed member of the team. Physiotherapy assistants are largely trained on the job, and do not need to sit exams. They play a vital role in helping patients reach their full potential for recovery. Their role is always overseen by a qualified physiotherapist. They typically help patients with strengthening exercises, balance exercises and walking practice, giving guidance, encouragement and motivating them. Their patience and hard work is rewarded as they see the patients abilities and confidence improve.
