How is Neuro Physio Kent responding to Covid 19?

We continue to follow government and professional guidelines. All face to face consultations take place wearing the correct PPE and we ask our patients to wear a face covering unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We carry out a Covid 19 risk assessment on all new patients prior to determining the best and safest way for them to receive their treatment. We are allowing extra time between appointments to thoroughly clean and air the clinic room. We continue to offer video consultations via your mobile phone, tablet or computer. 


Do you offer home visits?

We are able to offer home visits within our catchment area.  See map.


 Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, anyone can refer themselves. If you have a discharge letter from a hospital or a recent clinic letter from a consultant, please have it ready to show the physiotherapist carrying out the assessment. 


Can I have a member of my family with me at the assessment?

If you would like a family member with you at the assessment please discuss with your therapist prior to the appointment. They would be required to wear a face covering whilst in the same room as you.


What should I expect at an assessment?

We will ask you some questions about how your condition is affecting you. This is followed by a physical assessment with an explanation of our findings, followed by discussion of your treatment goals and our recommendations for future treatment.  


What should I wear to my assessment at the clinic?

It is helpful if you have a pair of shorts to change in to, and for women a vest top would be helpful. 


Can I speak to the physiotherapist before arranging an assessment?

Yes. It is helpful for us to gain some background information about your condition prior to booking your assessment and for this reason we ask you to leave your contact details if we are unable to take your call. Can you treat me if I am outside your area?

If we have capacity we are happy to consider treating you, however this will incur an additional fee to cover travelling time. 


Can you visit my relative who is in a nursing home?

Yes if they are within our catchment area.


Can you provide receipts for treatment?

Yes. We are registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and we are recognised by healthcare cash plans and Benenden. They require you to pay for your treatment upfront and receipts for treatment will be provided to allow you to claim back your costs. 


Are you recognised by Health Insurance Companies?

We are recognised by a number of health insurers. We are only covered to treat neurological conditions, so it is important that you are clear with your insurers what neurological condition you are seeking treatment for. You are expected to pay any excess on your policy at the time of assessment.


 What is your Cancellation Policy?

We require 24 hours notice to incur no charge. Otherwise the full hourly payment is required. Personal circumstances can be taken into consideration.
